Expectations Drive Accountability

In A ShellA team walks into trouble with eyes open. The team is full of well meaning people. The key questions to ask are 'How to navigate back to course?', 'What are some leadership traits that will accelerate course correction?', 'How to sustain the accountability of the team?'

Unexpected failures happen only because of mindless risktakes. Such a failure usually results in immediate loss of credibility. A sense of urgency to get back to course as soon as possible builds up and intensifies.

Seek First to Understand Difficult Employees

Difficult Employee"Listen to difficult employess only while it is productive". I read this tweet and said to myself "How true!". To understand this better, we have to understand why people could potentially turn difficult to handle in the first place. Most people are good and motivate themselves to learn, align and contribute. Remembering Maslow's theory, people look for esteem and recognition ("I among Us") with time.

Getting The Best Out Of Your People

LeadershipThis question on leadership style is a very common one. Is there a formula that works? When thinking about it, the first thing that occurred to me was that the question should first be turned around on its head. It is natural for a human to think ‘WIFMWhat is In it For Me?’. The leader should feed to the WIFM to be able to get something back.

Listening Actively

Active ListeningListening actively requires proper use your  mouth, nose, eyes and the rest of your body apart from the usual ears during the listening process. Henceforth whenever you are listening to another person, observe and train yourself on the following to become an effective listener. You will be able to demonstrate empathy effectively.
